Farewell to Fashion is a four-piece indie-rock outfit, mostly from Florida. Actually these guys toured the country for several years, starting around the year 2000.
After playing countless shows, meeting some very cool people, and generally having a blast, the guys decided to hang up their touring boots (that’s a metaphor — they don’t really wear boots, usually). They got jobs, started companies and families, and thing were good. Mostly.
After a while, the itch to play hard, loud music began to nag at the guys. They got together in 2005 for an appearance at Ichthus Fest in Kentucky, and it was quite a show. (That was the year of the tornado/hailstorm. Toby Mac was on stage when the weather turned, so it appears he was to blame.)
Fast-forward a couple years, and the guys again decided to play some music and start doing shows again. Their collective experience — working, touring, playing frisbee, watching The Simpsons — gives Farewell to Fashion a new perspective. This time around, it’s more about enjoying the music; writing it, playing it. Hopefully others enjoy hearing and seeing it. The live show is something to behold — these guys really let loose and leave it all on stage.
Farewell to Fashion has a desire to play music, loud and hard, and to see local music scenes grow and flourish. Without local venues and promoters, much of the music we all enjoy wouldn’t be possible. These guys work hard at what they do, and hope you enjoy it, too.
