What's up guys.  Marty from Fontana rockin out here.  I usually stay away from radio stations, but I was in my buddy's car the other day and he was playing some hard rock station.  Believe it or not I dug a few songs.  "Hero" by a band called Pop Evil ( I think they have a myspace at myspace.com/popevil) was a cool song.  I told my other friends I heard it on the radio and they were bugging me about listening to the radio.

Does anyone else listen to the radio? I can't seem to find much support...just had to vent a little bit.

No, the radio in the Uk is utter w@nk.  DJ's who worry more about making people laugh than playing decent music.

BBC 6 music occasionally makes way for some exciting and innovative music.  They still seem to have a playlist though, which annoys me in a non-commercial station, there's really no excuse for that at all.  Plus it's digital so not always easy to listen to.  I think most people go for internet radio or things like Last FM now, unless they're being forced to listen to local radio at work.

Radio stations in the US tend to leave me disgusted most of time.  At least in my area, most stations play the same Top 40s junk that will garuantee them ratings and a large listening audience.  Occasionally you can find some late-night radio programs that offer new and local music, but it usually doesn't stray far from the usual ditties they play during the day.  If I'm forced to listen to the radio and I'm around my computer, I listen to a few online radio stations which obviously offer a better variety.  I especially enjoy 89.9 KCRW, a station based out of Santa Monica, California.  However, I try to avoid listening to the regular radio, which is plagued by playlists and length commericals.

I prefer to just have my computer or mp3 player nearby.

I sometimes listen to the radio, but not too much. They talk to much on the radio station that I listen to.

The only radio station I can stand to listen to is Kroq, but even they sometimes get way too mainstream for me.  It's in the Los Angeles, CA area and I think there are other stations called Kroq in Seattle and Chicago maybe?  I'm not too sure.  You can stream them on Kroq.com.  Kevin and Bean are the only talk show hosts I can listen to in the morning, they're ridiculous and have been on Kroq for like 15 years or something crazy like that.
