I was browsing for a stable site where indie musicians hang out. I'm pretty certain I dont know anyone here, but if I do, My apologies as I am at the moment an artist without a country. Its a long, strange story that I can share once I know I have rid myself of the beast that tracks my online moves.
OK with that wierdness established, I am an older chap and my music may not appeal to some of you - I write, record and love progressive rock from the 70's - perhaps your grandparents told you about a music called "prog" that was briefly popular back in their day. Framed in between the "Age of Aquarius" and "The BeeGees", Rock music took a rather interesting turn, - at least for some of us. I was 12 or so when it started, Bands like Yes, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Genesis.. were accidentally allowed access to the FM airwaves, which nobody listened to at the time. - Well something happened. People started listening to FM radio and a golden age of sorts took place where rather complex - some may say "Boring" rock music became popular amongst certain groups of people.
Since this is an introduction and not a thesis, I'll just stop right there. Except to say the music is somewhat despised in certain sectors, indeed if you wish to retain any semblance of "cool" my advice is to pretend you havent read what you actually have read, adjust your sunglasses, and go on your merry, Hip way. I just feel I need to get all that out on the table so after being here for 6 months, someone doesnt accidentally discover my taste in music and ream me for it.
I have a myspace page, that will give you some Idea of what I am about:

But here is another sticky point - I am a signed artist - "a part of the problem", "a cog in the dreaded machine..." I have recently signed a contract for distribution with ProgRock Records, which is an indie label specializing in Progressive rock music. In my defense I can say that I produce my own music, I am not controlled by, nor have I recieved any money for "doin it the mans way" ProgRock is one of those good labels that dont choke and rip off their artists.. Trust me, (even though you dont know me)
Anyway, this may be more than just a friendly wave, I know, but if you like to correspond, I do too.
You dont have to like my music. or even me, just pretend you do.
Cheers!
