According to The Sun newspaper, late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's estate has been defrauded out of a staggering £36 million since 2003.

Cobain's widow, Courtney Love, said the majority of the cash was taken out of a trust fund set up for the couple's daughter Frances Bean. She also claims the fraudsters even managed to use her late husband's cash to buy a $3.2 million (approximately £1.6 million) mansion in New Jersey.

"I did a check on my deceased husband's social security number and he has a house in New Brunswick, New Jersey," Love told the newspaper. "He bought it last year. I would like to know how! He should probably get his ass back home if that is the case."

Police are now investigating the case.
